The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, recognizes that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide an urgent call for action by all countries, around the world.
While we have made progress towards the SDGs, further efforts are still required to meet the targets set out within the SDGs. The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced new challenges, while highlighting the importance of collaborative, global action.
