The Office of Pediatric Surgical Evaluation and Innovation (OPSEI) works with the University of British Columbia, the Provincial Health Services Authority, and the BC Children's Research Institute to ensure pediatric patients receive the best surgical care, in BC and globally. Held every two years, the Uganda Pediatric Surgery Camp is a long-standing partnership between the Office of Pediatric Surgical Evaluation and Innovation and Makerere University and Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda. These camps support two weeks of specialized surgical care for Ugandan children and provides opportunities for UBC residents and fellows to gain invaluable global health training and experience.
