Why is this surgery recommended?

• Treat severe foot deformities
• Improve ability to wear orthotics or position feet on foot rests

What happens during surgery?

Your child's surgeon will make a cut on the top of the foot.

Several foot bones are fused together (talus and navicular, talus and calcaneus, and the calcaneus and cuboid).

Screws or staples are used to maintain the new position.

With a triple arthrodesis there is a significant loss of range of motion in the foot.
