Health Bridge

We create, transform, and share health information in different ways to ensure we meet diverse needs. Our work ranges from large-scale provincial campaigns, to specific resources on health topics that are important to youth and families.
Join an advisory committee
Health Bridge invites parents, families, caregivers and youth to provide meaningful contributions through a variety of advisory committees. These committees are an opportunity to share lived experience to influence real change, build community, and connect with other projects and leadership opportunities. Advisory committees meet regularly. We pay participants for their involvement.
Cultural safety, equity, diversity and inclusion are key to improving health outcomes and experiences for all children and youth. We are committed to embedding these in our advisory committees and other engagement opportunities.
Current opportunities include:
- Youth Advisory Committee
- Family Caregiver Advisory Committee (open to any parent or caregiver of a child or youth)
Get involved in our projects
There are many other opportunities to get involved throughout the year. This could include participating in community events, co-designing resources, or being involved in projects through surveys, art projects, discussion groups and more.
Peyton Crawford, Co-chair, Health Bridge Youth Advisory Committee

"Being on the youth advisory committee at BC Children’s Hospital has made the isolating experience of health care as a teenager a lot more warm. Being a sick teenager can make you feel powerless, but the YAC has helped me regain my footing and use my experiences to make a difference for other chronically ill patients like me. It has allowed me to be a part of something bigger with the circumstances life has dealt me.
Because of the YAC I am in control of my health care, not the other way around."
Tasha Doucas, Co-chair, Health Bridge Family Caregiver Advisory Committee

"I’m honoured to be on the Health Bridge advisory committee, where my voice as a parent has truly been heard. Our committee, being culturally and geographically balanced, has informed Health Bridge since its creation, namely collaborating on the name, project criteria, and a provincial survey asking families about their health information priorities.
Through Health Bridge, I have also been a patient partner for a study that aims to reduce wait times in Emergency, attended a PHSA Patient Partner Symposium, and am currently co-designing a mental health study for youth."
