Simulation Program
Simulation Program staff provide simulation events for health-care providers, including doctors, midwives, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, other members of the allied health-care team and medical trainees.

Simulations occur both in the Simulation Centre and in patient care areas. The centre has over 20 rooms, including simulation rooms that closely resemble a typical acute care environment; clinical skills rooms; and education and meeting rooms.
Health-care providers learn hands-on skills and team communication using different high-fidelity infant, child and adult human-patient simulators; other low and medium-fidelity simulators; and task trainers. Simulation events include various activities, such as simulations within staff orientation and education workshops, mock codes, mock traumas, mock obstetric and pediatric or neonatal emergencies, procedural skills training, and process or systems evaluations.
Simulations provide:
- Immersive, realistic and experiential learning
- Inter-professional team training
- Exposure to both common and rare clinical situations
- A safe, risk-free learning environment
- Individual and group analysis of event management through debriefing
- Repetitive training opportunities until you achieve mastery
