Visitor Hours and Guidelines

Visiting and staying with your child
There is sleeping accommodation in many patient rooms for a family member or caregiver to stay overnight.
All patient rooms in the Teck Acute Care Centre have a pull-out bed and a bathroom, including a sink and shower.
Visitor hours

We ask visitors who are not parents or caregivers to follow BC Children’s Hospital visitor guidelines and hours. This allows care teams to focus their attention on delivering care.
Visiting hours are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including weekends and public holidays.
We encourage visitors to coordinate their visit with the patient’s family or primary caregiver.
If you feel sick or have cold and flu-like symptoms, please avoid visiting a patient until you are feeling better. This protects both patients and our entire health-care community.
Questions about visiting hours
If you have a unique situation and want to request an adjustment to our visitor guidelines for your child, please speak to a member of your child’s care team.
Tour requests
BC Children’s Hospital does not provide tours for members of the public. However, we accommodate some requests from other health-care providers and community organizations, including our partner organizations.
If you would like a tour of BC Children’s Hospital, please email our Patient Experience team with details regarding your area(s) of interest. They will respond to you with further information.
