This is a self-learning program on insulin dose adjustment for parents of children with diabetes.
Audience
This program is for parents of children with type 1 diabetes who:
- Have a basic understanding of type 1 diabetes and
- Would like to gain knowledge, skill and confidence to make insulin adjustments
Computer requirements
- Sound capabilities
- Access to Internet
- Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Apple Safari
- Viewable on iPad and Android devices

When you have finished the learning modules, you will be able to:
- State age appropriate blood sugar goals
- Interpret blood sugar readings
- Explain how different insulins work
- Identify when an insulin adjustment is needed
- Apply the guidelines for insulin adjustment
- Adjust insulin for high or low blood sugars
- Adjust insulin for activity
- Adjust insulin for illness
- Identify when to call for help
