Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Referral
The Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery team provides care for children with disorders of the ears, nose and throat.
The BC Children's Hospital's Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery team provides care and treatment for a variety of conditions and disorders, including:
- Ear infections
- Hearing loss
- Airway obstruction
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Tonsillitis
- Nosebleeds
- Sinus infection
- Voice disorders
- Velopharyngeal insufficiency
- Salivary gland diseases
- Thyroid lumps
- Congenital cysts
- Sinuses and fistulae of the head and neck
- Foreign bodies
- Tumours of the ear, nose, sinuses, neck, salivary glands, thyroid, larynx, trachea, and skull base

Patients need a referral from a family doctor, pediatrician or specialist, such as an audiologist, to access this service.

Write a referral or complete a form
For Otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) and Head and Neck Surgery, providers can write their own referral and fax it to 604-875-2498. Please include recent laboratory results and assessments.
For the Cochlear Implant Program, providers can fill out a cochlear implant referral form (PDF) or program transfer form (PDF) and fax the completed form to 604-875-2977.
For the Bone Conduction Implant Program, providers can fill out a bone conduction implant referral form (PDF) and fax the completed form to 604-875-2977.

Post-referral
If the patient’s condition changes, please send another referral letter to update us.

Appointment with a provider
No further action is required once you have submitted the referral. Our clinic will contact the patient’s family to schedule an appointment.
