Indigenous-Specific Careers

Grow your career here
We recognize and support the unique needs of Indigenous patients, clients and employees who work, visit and receive care/services at BC Children’s Hospital.
Indigenous care coordinators and Indigenous patient navigators are two of many roles within interdisciplinary teams. Through their lived experience and training, they support Indigenous clients in accessing health care services that meet their care and wellness needs.
Sanya’k̓ula is PHSA’s Indigenous recruitment & employee experience team, and supports Indigenous employees through culturally safe recruitment, retention and career development. In addition to practical supports, the team helps Indigenous employees share their knowledge, gifts and experiences to thrive in their careers.
Our commitment
BC Children’s Hospital is committed to a welcoming, culturally safe space where Indigenous healing practices are honored alongside western medicine.
We recognize the unique experiences of Indigenous employees and support their connections to community and identity. PHSA offers dedicated resources, flexible work hours for accessing services, and an inclusive workplace.
As part of our commitment to anti-racism and equity, we work to remove hiring barriers and encourage Indigenous applicants to self-identify. One of PHSA’s North Star priorities is eradicating Indigenous-specific racism by enhancing Indigenous recruitment and employee experience.
