- When the peroneal muscle (muscle on the outside of the lower leg) is tight it pulls the foot outwards
- This surgery is done to:
- Improve positioning of the foot during walking
- May be combined with a calcaneal lengthening to improve the foot alignment
Your child's surgeon will make a cut on the outside of the foot.
The tendon is then made longer so that it does not pull the foot outwards.
